mission statement
aspiring rockstars have their work cut out for them–passing out flyers, setting up gigs, dedicating every waking moment to their band. what if you had a little help, you know, that extra push that makes your musical escapades just a tad bit easier.

passed out promotions is a promotional agency hailing from the washington d.c./baltimore area dedicated to promoting the national underground punk/emo/hardcore/alt. rock (or any label you choose to give it)scene. anything from passed out promotions compilation cd’s, flyers, stickers, buttons, internet exposure, booking gigs, passed out pr sponsored shows, radio opportunities, print publication, duct taping record executives to their comfy black-leather chair and forcing your music into their ears–needless to say, we do it all. all because we love new music.

Out of Boston, Bars (featuring former members of The Hope Conspiracy and Give Up The Ghost) as they release their debut album, Introducing…, on Equal Vision Records. Playing no holds barred rock and roll with a hardcore edge, Bars is a band you will regret you hadn’t heard of sooner. After disbanding from former bands, Give Up The Ghost and The Hope Conspiracy, Bars was born into a world of mayhem in the summer of 2002, while officially entering the recording studio in August of 2004 as a band together.

Right out of the gates and straight to the point, …Introducing hits you in the face like a cleverly placed rake in a yard with hardcore thick guitar solos/riffs, fast paced drums, raw, aggressive vocals and hard, bitter lyrics that you can bet will not stop. There is no doubt in mind that tells you this album will knock you off your feet and pummel you song after song with hardcore rocking beats. Maybe the best song on this album is Up To My Neck with the chorus filled with simple but the catchiest lyrics, “Up to my neck /Out of my head”. The only way to describe the technicality in Bars’ sound is simple; its mind blowing, ass kicking, fast paced, face distorting rock, and surely it makes you want to dance. Aren’t you glad you took the time to listen to Bars?

I would highly recommend picking up this album and listening to it non-stop until your brains bleed out. For fans of Endicott, Time In Malta, Silent Drive, Rise Against, Underminded, Vaux, Give Up The Ghost, the hardcore/punk/rock genre in general or anything else that’s fast and in your face.
