Why stick to just Passed Out PR bands (other than they are amazing)? We most definitely know that there are other great bands out there that need recognition, ones that we listen to on a daily basis, and what better way to pay tribute than to start featuring them on our Passed Out PR website. Daniel, our friend from Upbeet Music, did an interview with Equal Vision band Alexisonfire, and we are proudly displaying it for your viewing pleasure. Muchos props to Daniel for a great interview.

Daniel: OK, so the new album "Watch Out!" was just released here in the homeland (Daniel is from Canada, so the homeland being Canada) so I thought this would be a perfect chance for me to see how you guys have matured as musicians over the past year, I decided to take questions from fans on your message board so they have some input too. Here we go!
Daniel: Who are you and what do you do in the only band ever?
Jesse: I am Jesse and Wade is standing right behind me. So I play drums in Toots and the Maytals and Wade plays guitar for Tiger Army. We occasionally moonlight in a band called Alexisonfire.
Daniel: Now Let's start with the name "Alexisonfire." I'm not going to ask you why you named yourselves after a lactating contortionist cause it's been done, but I haven't seen anyone ask you why it's all one word. Do you guys just plainly like confusing people?
Jesse: Well it all came down to Al-Exis-On-Fire, Alex-Is-On-Fire, Alexis-O-Fire, Alex-ison-Fire, Alex-Is-So-On-Fire-It-Hurts, Axis-On-Fire and then Steele from out of nowhere comes up with Alexisonfire and we all collectively did a wave. At any given point the wave happens we know we have a winner.
Daniel: How do you guys feel about programs like "mIRC" and other downloading applications, especially because it really did help spread the word on you guys somewhat.
Jesse: Yeah, what a catch twenty two on that. Because we know people heard about us through these programs and honestly never thought too much of them. I think it’s great for streaming TV performances, live concerts and all that. However recently our album got leaked before the release date and that really collectively pissed us all off. We knew it was going to be put up right away but leaking before hand is so shady, especially when all these companies are working on your behalf for release date and we worked our asses off to make this album and then someone thought it would be great to put it online, that does not impress me.
Daniel: As a band how have you guys changed over the past year with all the success, media and hype? You guys are really opening doors for more hardcore Canadian bands.
Jesse: We get to tour the world and meet interesting people every day, so of course we are changing. It is opening our eyes to a bigger picture, it's so amazing the shit we are experiencing. Regarding media and hype, media is part of the job and we really have fun doing interviews and all that, its part of what you do when you become a band and we love it. Did you see Wade the last time we did Much on Demand, haha? Regarding hype, not a fan of that word, I think everything that we do is warranted and not really hyped, we live up to what we do on stage and off stage.
We are not really a hardcore band, but if we are opening doors then that is amazing. It’s great to be in this position and hang with our friends and if we can share our experiences with those friends that that rules life. Ohh, Wade said that it helps that the guy that runs our label invented metal, haha. Inside joke, sorry, make sure you print that though, our family will appreciate that.
Daniel: Now I’m sure you've heard of the "Sophomore Curse" (or maybe not) so are you guys worried about how everyone will receive your second album, especially with the vocal dominance shifting over to Dallas, and do you feel any pressure to top your debut?
Jesse: Not at all. We are all collectively really proud of this album and we knew when writing this that some kids may not get it and that is fine. We went from a 1st album to a 3rd album so it is a big adjustment for people, however it still sounds exactly like us. George is on every song but two, so it really isn't that huge. Not huge to us because this is us, I guess the fans will let us know if they like it or not. Everything seemed so natural to us, so we really don't think about it to be honest.
Daniel: Now maybe you don't want to answer this BUT I’ve heard some weird rumors about why you guys don't play "Counterparts And Number Them" live, so why don't you guys straighten this out once and for all so EVERYONE knows.
Jesse: Wow, maybe you should lets us know what rumors because that is the first we ever heard of this. Ummmm, to be honest, Wade simply can't play it on guitar, haha, just kidding he is standing right behind me. Ummm, just don't, nothing exciting about it, we simply like playing other songs more. But if you want to start more rumors go for it, wait, Wade has one. Tell people that we basically that we sold out and that it wasn't as big of a hit that we wanted so we refuse to play that song because we are angry at the public. I don't know.
Daniel: Which places do you guys want to tour and conquer next or are you guys just planning on overall world domination?
Jesse: You just said it, the world. Well to be honest we would really like to hit some crazy exotic places. I know we are working on going to Japan and Australia soon so that is pretty crazy. Conquering just sounds hilarious, have we conquered anything yet? If you want to talk about conquering go talk to Kroger, he knows.
Daniel: Lastly, how does it feel to be part of the franchise known as the "Vans Warped Tour" this year?
Jesse: We are honored to be on a portion of it and to be playing with such amazing bands. Apparently we are on the Volcom stage, even in Canada, so come out and get nuts with us. We are simply just excited as well this year we are a part of SCENE Music Festival, Hellfest, Leeds Festival, Edgefest, and Reading Festival. We are really so god damn lucky and yeah, we are stoked.
