mission statement
aspiring rockstars have their work cut out for them–passing out flyers, setting up gigs, dedicating every waking moment to their band. what if you had a little help, you know, that extra push that makes your musical escapades just a tad bit easier.

passed out promotions is a promotional agency hailing from the washington d.c./baltimore area dedicated to promoting the national underground punk/emo/hardcore/alt. rock (or any label you choose to give it)scene. anything from passed out promotions compilation cd’s, flyers, stickers, buttons, internet exposure, booking gigs, passed out pr sponsored shows, radio opportunities, print publication, duct taping record executives to their comfy black-leather chair and forcing your music into their ears–needless to say, we do it all. all because we love new music.

Any band, big or small, in the least bit talented or not, can bring a fan to his/her feet. Smash a couple guitars, ask how New York is doing tonight, and jump all over the stage like jack rabbits. The equation is simple, which is why so many B-list bands litter the scene. But, occasionally, and fortunately, a band comes along with not only that rock-out capability, but with a knack for stringing words together described as nothing short of genius. Emerging from the Mecca of all punk music, Long Island, NY, comes Broken Hero.

Over here, as I type this bio, I am listening Broken Hero, the new stuff to be exact. Yeah, when Broken Hero first jumped onto Passed Out Promotions, we liked their music. But now, with a new lineup change and after a fresh recording session, we freakin’ worship the new stuff. I was expecting at least moderately amazing when I headed over to Pure Volume to hear it for the first time, but to be blown away? Call it emo-rock. Call punk rock. Call it freakin' country for all anyone cares. It's a band on the rise that deserves to be on the rise, and worked hard for the small cult following they've already gained. Drawing from bands such as Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Finch, and Matchbook Romance, Broken Hero has ignited the scene like a storm, and with new tracks like “Written in Blood, Sealed with a Kiss” and “Common Story of a Hopeless Romantic,” expect to see an even bigger buzz.

For those needing a softer edge, Broken Hero can shell out their heart-felt, emotional lyrics for a insightful counseling session via their invigorating and unrivaled emo-rock perfection. It's uni-sex punk with a modern twist of current influences. Don't be shy. Give your CD player a new drug.
